To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a good fit for the Global Director of Tax opportunity, you will have:
  • BS in Accounting required; MBA and/or MS in Taxation or Law preferred

  • 5 years of leadership/supervisory experience
  • Significant ASC 740 tax accounting and international tax experience
  • International Tax planning experience with proven ability to lead projects and work cross-functionally within an organization
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to travel on occasion (10-20% or less) primarily to visit sites and gain a deeper understanding of the business

Reporting to the CFO, as Global Director of Tax, you will be responsible for managing tax accounting, reporting and compliance, and for developing and implementing tax planning strategies. This role includes completing all tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant IRS regulations, preparing financial accruals and projections (GAAP and regulatory), leading the interaction with external auditors for quarterly and yearly audits, leading the interaction with relevant tax authorities for any tax audits, and developing process improvements with oversight of Tax Policies and the related SOX compliant internal controls. 

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on compliance, provisioning and planning / special projects, and supervising two tax managers. Your team is solid, but you will coach and further develop their skills while also handling responsibilities in the following areas:
  • Strategic Tax Planning
    • Developing and implementing strategic tax planning ideas to minimize the corporation's overall tax expense.
    • U.S. taxation, international tax, and state/local tax planning. CTS has significant international operations as a global company, and international tax planning is a key aspect of the role.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Overseeing the completion of all required tax returns, in a timely manner, to minimize the company's overall tax liabilities under the applicable laws.
    • Providing oversight for sales and use tax, property tax filings which are handled internally by CTS.
  • Tax Audits
    • Coordinating tax audits by federal, international, and state/local tax officials.
  • Income Tax Accounting
    • Responsible for the preparation and accuracy of the Company’s income tax provision calculations, including effective tax rate, current and deferred taxes, related footnotes, on an annual and quarterly basis, and in accordance with US GAAP and SEC standards.
    • Oversight of SOX 404 compliance requirements for all tax function controls and documentation requirements.
    • Leading the interaction with external auditors in the completion of their quarterly and yearly procedures.
  • Mergers and Acquisition
    • Assisting the M&A team in financial due diligence related to taxes, and post-acquisition integration compliance and support.
    • Playing a critical role in the decisions related to acquisition structuring to optimize the tax position of the company.
  • Transfer Pricing
    • Managing global transfer pricing to ensure the allocation of profits is appropriate.
